Meet Imran
Imran came to us initially for help with council tax and claiming PIP but our intervention ultimately involved much more.
Including other debts, benefit entitlement disputes, housing affordability concerns, and help through mental health and bereavement.
At initial contact, Imran disclosed council tax arrears with missed payments and previous failed arrangements. Our adviser clarified the priority status of council tax debt and discussed risks of enforcement, including bailiff action. We helped him submit a council tax exceptional hardship application and correct his benefits which weren’t being paid properly.
We also started the process of successfully applying for PIP and helped him prepare for the assessment. We advised on bereavement support and helped secure financial support towards funeral costs.
Our support put Imran in a stronger, more stable place both in terms of finances, emotional resilience and mental health through receiving the right advice at the right time during a very difficult period.
