Volunteer as a Trustee
Citizens Advice Luton is one of over 300 local Citizens Advice across England and Wales, each of which is a registered charity with its own Board of Trustees.
The Board oversees the management and finances of the charity and is responsible for deciding how the service is developed to meet the needs of the community. Trustees volunteer their time and expertise and are given the opportunity to utilise their skills or develop new ones in a supportive environment.
The Trustee Board meets, in the evenings, 4 times a year in Luton. Due to coronavirus, we are currently holding google hangout meetings until we are able to return to the office safely. The Chair and Trustees work with the Chief Officer and other Trustees to help with long term planning, communication, fund raising, policy making, campaigns and many other fields. The role is stimulating, satisfying, flexible and, most importantly, develops our organisation to grow and reach out to help more people.
No specific qualifications are required, and we welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and experience who can bring innovative ideas and good judgement as we continue to develop our services.
If you are interested in becoming a Trustee and would like more information, an informal chat and/or application form please contact David Olney, Chair of the Board of Trustees, email david.olney@lutoncab.org.uk
